Mom Writes A Letter To Punish Her Entitled Son And It’s Going Viral

Aaron, a 13-year-old boy developed a serious sense of entitlement after earning some money and a bit of fame from his YouTube videos. His behaviour changed and his single mother Estella Havisham found it difficult to communicate with him.

Aaron lied to her and refused to do his homework, he even shared his excitement on social media about the income he was receiving from his popular videos, saying that since he is “making money now,” he thought his mother no longer had the right to tell him what to do.

Little did he know, his mom a different plan for how things should be. She simply wrote a letter to her son and left it on his door. The letter was more of a mutual understanding since her little child was so “independent.” You can read the letter below, it is hilarious.

After reading the letter, Aaron crumpled the letter and stormed out the apartment. The mother knowing that she should allow some time for both parties to think said, “When he could be respectful, and I was calmer, we would discuss it further.”

The mother meant to only share this letter with her friends and family but she accidentally made it public where it somehow went viral. The post has since been shared over 165,000 times.

“Later, that same night, he came back into my room and sat on the foot of my bed and asked if we could talk,” she wrote on Facebook. “He wanted to know how he could earn things back.”

“It may have seemed like tough love, or a harsh reality check, but putting it into practice has been fairly gentle,” she said.

“I have seen him trying to be more conscientious…everything has a honeymoon period; so, only time will tell — But as for this week, things are much better and I have high hopes,” she added.

Upon making amends, the mother went and wrote a detailed contract with her son to have a set of guidelines and understanding. The guidelines incorporated how the would complete his homework, help out around the house and various things of that sort.

Mom’s untraditional way of handling the situation worked, at least for the time being.
